Events at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens
Some of these events are run by other organisations so please check the event details on their websites prior to travel.

Sheffield Botanical Gardens will be closed to the public to host events as follows:
27th August Gardens will close at 5.45pm for Theatre in the Gardens
4th-9th September Gardens will be closed to the public for Art in the Gardens
28th October - 5th November Gardens will be closed to the public for Illuminate the Gardens
Pedestrian Access for patrons of the Dorothy Fox Education Centre will be via Thompson Road Entrance.
(Authorised Vehicle drop offs only)

A public tour of the Gardens including an overview of the development of the Gardens through history. Meet at the top of the Thompson Road Drive, near the Dorothy Fox Education Centre.
Perfumes and Potions Public Tour
For February we’ll be exploring some of the scents and smells of the early Spring garden, as well as examining the medicinal heritage of some of our plants.
National Tree Week Public Tour
One-hour long public guided tour at 1pm. Meet at the entrance to the Dorothy Fox Education Centre, at the top of the slope from the Thompson Road gates, off Ecclesall Road. There’s no need to book. You can just turn up.
SPRING BULBS & MAGNIFICENT MAGNOLIAS PUBLIC TOUR
For March we’ll be discovering some of our Spring bulbs and the wonderful early flowers of our magnolia collection.

For August we’ll be exploring the new South African plantings in Osborn’s Field.

For July we’ll be exploring the Victorian flower beds and our bear pit.
