Events at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens
Some of these events are run by other organisations so please check the event details on their websites prior to travel.

Sheffield Botanical Gardens will be closed to the public to host events as follows:
15th June Gardens will close at 5.45pm for Theatre in the Gardens
3rd & 15th August Gardens will close at 5.45pm for Theatre in the Gardens
5th-8th September Gardens will be closed to the public for Art in the Gardens
Pedestrian Access for patrons of the Dorothy Fox Education Centre will be via Thompson Road Entrance.
(Authorised Vehicle drop offs only)

Dr Michael Klemperer will focus on the gradual restoration of certain key elements within the Brodsworth site, making it one of the most unique Victorian Gardens in the country and the challenges of undertaking accurate restoration and interpretation as fashions change in horticulture.

The Friends of Sheffield Botanical Gardens are joining the Hallam Art Group Exhibition, selling bargain books, bags, totes, cards and more in the Dorothy Fox Centre in Sheffield Botanical Gardens. 10.00 - 16.00 each day.

A chance to hear all about Sheffield’s urban fruit tree nursery workers co-op, Sheffield Trees, and tips on what to think about when planting trees including rootstocks, staking, mulching and more

The therapeutic benefits of horticulture and the quest for the Hero of Lockinge melon
In this talk, horticultural lecturer Richard Brown will aim to explain why horticulture is good for our physical and mental health. He will provide all the information needed to propagate, germinate and grow melons and cucumbers and other members of the curcurbit family.
