NEIL TIMM ‘THE WORLD OF FERNS’ LIVE LECTURE

This talk and all our lectures are FREE for Friends of the Botanical Gardens to attend. Members of the public are also welcome to join us on payment of £5 at the door on the day. Live talks are held in the Education Centre in the grounds of the Botanical Gardens - easily accessed via the Thompson Road Entrance.

This wide ranging talk by Neil Timm of the Fern Nursery in the Lincolnshire woods, will cover all aspects of ferns, their natural history, economic uses, associated folklore, where to see them, and of course all about growing them in the garden.

Neil is passionate about ferns, believing them to be the most interesting of all plants. The talk will be illustrated by photos taken by Neil during a long career working with ferns.

Neil Timm comes from a family with a history of working in horticulture; he has a life long interest in the natural world, and a passion for gardening. He also enjoys walking, travel, music, natural history and helps with the running of several gardening and natural history groups. He has written a number of articles for books and magazines and has regular engagements as a public speaker. He continues to run the family business, though due to several early bereavements he has the challenge of running it alone.
