Sheffield Exhibition

The month of June saw lots of events in Sheffield to honour Marnock, designer of three major public sites in the city.

Among the celebrations, the Botanical Gardens hosted a month-long exhibition of original editions of Marnock’s Floricultural Magazine alongside display boards telling stories from his life and work.

It was thanks to an anonymous donor that the magazines were made available to the Gardens on long-term loan, while the accompanying display boards were developed by the Heritage Fund-supported education co-ordinator Dr Laura Alston.

During the exhibition there were also talks and tours about Marnock as well as a ‘Pocket Pollen’, a compact version of a monthly Sheffield flower market.
